Siroki 0-3 Tel Aviv … Burning down the house (Video)

By: Ian Rose | August 18th, 2007

Celebrations are one thing, folks, but can we please leave the stadium intact? Hapoel Tel Aviv traveled to Bosnia to take on Siroki Brijeg on Thursday, and apparently brought with them some fans that need some training on pyrotechnics safety. It’s not immediately apparent from the video exactly how much damage was caused by the firecrackers let off after Abedi scored the opening goal, but a number of seats were destroyed. The match had to be temporarily suspended to allow the ejection of the pyros. No word yet on UEFA fines for Tel Aviv, but this seems like more of a fan ejection / fan ban sort of situation. Maybe a fine to pay for the damages. Here’s the goal and a small taste of the fires. Tel Aviv went on to win 3-0.
