Today’s video lesson: Don’t clear into the box

It was a nice attack and cross, and all credit to Diego Forlan for the finish, but to be fair, the ball should have been well handled. After all, two defenders got feet on it. This was a rare mistake from a Gloria team that really pushed Madrid, one of the best of this year’s Intertoto crop, to its limit. For you kids learning to play back four football, a clearance into the penalty box (especially the 6-yard box) is really no clearance at all.
