Zenit looks to finish what Getafe could not
By: Ian Rose | May 1st, 2008Apologies all around. Unfortunately, due to other crap on my schedule, I can’t liveblog the matches today as I did last week. However, I did want to point out that currently, we are in the 57th minute of Zenit v. Bayern, and Zenit St. Petersburg leads 3-0, 4-1 on aggregate. Luca Toni or no Luca Toni, one wonders if Bayern has any more epic comebacks left in them. If anyone is watching the match, get on here and keep us up to date in the comments.
I will be liveblogging the final, and I’ll try to post more often once we know who our finalists are. If Bayern manages it now, they truly do deserve it. If not, it just wasn’t meant to be this year.

UPDATE: Make that 4-0 in the 81st minute. An absolute rout for Zenit.

In other news … still NO GOALS in Italy. Going to penalties, after 210 minutes of 0-0. Ick.

I can’t believe I sat throught that Rangers/Fiorentina game, it was awful. And I knew Christian Vieri would miss that penalty, he’s been fucking awful every time I see him. Really dissapointed Rangers got through.

I’m absolutely with you Rob. The Rangers promise to bore us witless for another 90 minutes. And both my brother and I began gathering our stuff when Vieri stepped up. Awful.

My bias as a Scotland NT fan doesn’t make me forget how ugly they’ve been playing, but I do want to see Ferguson, Boyd and co. get some medals, so I’m pleased. Poor Bobo … well past his prime, that one.

i hate that rangers won. and they were horrible. ugh. go zenit! ian, aside from your wanting to boost scotlands place in euro footy is there any reason to be excited about another rangers game. especially after those two games. i know i’m biased as a celtic fan but seriously.
